Andy’s Auto Sport Selects Thanx Media to Help Streamline Product Data and Web Traffic

Conversion Rates Increase 38.4% since Implementation

Thanx Media, a provider of e-commerce software solutions and data management, announced today that Andy’s Auto Sport, an industry leader in online auto parts and sales, has selected Thanx Media to improve online customer experience and performance related to the size of its database. Andy’s Auto Sport chose Thanx Media based on the company’s successful record of accomplishments working with other companies in the industry. Working closely with the Andy’s Auto Sport team, Thanx Media implemented Oracle Endeca, an industry-leading faceted search and guided navigation system.

Oracle Endeca offers an intuitive navigation that gives users full control over their shopping experience. This has allowed visitors to find products based on attributes such as year, make and model of their vehicles, without having to wade through thousands of products. Additionally, the solution makes it possible for the Andy’s Auto Sport merchandising team to feature high margin brands and products at a category level, creating a more relevant customer experience that has improved conversion rates by 38.4 percent since implementation.

“We had a very complex set of requirements,” said Eric Ferguson, president of Andy’s Auto Sport. “Not only where there thousands of individual products, but the number of attributes and combinations that can be derived creates an enormous data set. After Thanx Media collaborated with our team to understand and set the requirements, they recommended leveraging the capabilities of Oracle Endeca. The Endeca platform was the perfect solution for taking all of our data and crunching it quickly to serve our webpages fast.”

“The Oracle Endeca platform is used by many of the top 100 retailers across the country, so it was a natural fit for the requirements set forth by Eric Ferguson and his team. It has delivered exactly what the company was looking for—providing a site that is scalable and can handle consistent growth. We’re proud to have worked with Andy’s Auto Sport on this project,” said Paul Matker, CEO, Thanx Media.

Phasing Implementation with Easy Learning Curves and Accelerated ROI

Replacing or upgrading any system can be a daunting task. When it’s one that is customer facing and drives sales, the risks are even greater. Oftentimes we think of a system upgrade as being an all or nothing endeavor completed using only internal resources, or perhaps with one external resource for project management and staff augmentation. It’s time to rethink this.

Thanx Media today announced a new E-Commerce Experience Management Solution Business Process Services (BPS) offering based on Oracle Commerce Experience Manager (formerly known as Oracle Endeca). The new service, Thanx Media’s On-Demand solution for Oracle Commerce Experience Manager, will help enable customers to implement a valuable enterprise search solution with a reduced cost of ownership. Thanx Media is a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN).

This initiative enables Thanx Media to provide retailers with a fully-hosted cloud-based version of Oracle CommerceExperience Manager, a single flexible platform that creates and manages a customized customer experience across channels. Customers now have the benefit of owning a robust technology asset without the added expense of technology and manpower to host the service.

Thanx Media’s On-Demand solution for Oracle Commerce Experience Manager

Organizations today are looking to reduce costs while operating more efficiently, leading many to sign up for non-core and specialized business process services such as logistics and transportation management, accounts payable and receivables, human resource administration, or learning management. By leveraging Oracle’s extensive network of partners who deliver business process services, customers can gain the combined benefit of Oracle’s leading stack of technology and applications and specific partner expertise in the business processes which they choose to subscribe. With the combined Oracle and partner service, customers can focus more on their business challenges and innovation, instead of day-to-day operations or IT management.

“We’re constantly working to find innovative ways to help businesses implement innovative technology solutions,” said Paul Matker, Thanx Media CEO.  “We are pleased that Oracle recognizes the value we bring our On-Demand solutions for Oracle Commerce customers through this initiative.”

Thanx Media’s Oracle Endeca and ULTA Beauty take Customer Experience to the Next Level

ULTA Beauty, a major beauty retailer, in partnership with Thanx Media has implemented Oracle Endeca Site Search and Experience Manager. Thanx Media is a leading provider of integrated search solutions and Endeca Professional Services for online retailers. Thanx Media works closely with retailers to leverage best practices that deliver a unified customer experience.

Oracle Endeca has replaced a third party search solution, now tightly integrating the browse and search navigation, resulting in a consistent guest experience with minimal maintenance. The previous lack of integration with the third party search solution caused discrepancies in product data (such as pricing and inventory levels between search and browse) resulting in product listing pages that didn’t always match and a process that lacked the flexibility required by the e-commerce business team.

Michelle Pacynski, VP IT, Customer Facing Systems and Jeff Hamm, Director of E-Commerce at ULTA Beauty jointly led the initiative to replace the third party search platform.  “The decision to replace the existing search was in response to a need to provide a seamless customer experience throughout the site and to put the control into the hands of the business team,” explained Pacynski. “Elevating the e-commerce experience for our guests is a priority,” said Hamm. “Thanx Media was the best partner to help us make that experience more seamless with their expertise, record of success, and ability to meet our time to market needs.”

Oracle Endeca Site Search was phased in just prior to the 2013 holiday shopping season. Positive Q4 results and desire for more business control emphasized the need for a spring-time implementation of Experience Manager. The Thanx Media expertise was leveraged to accelerate the learning curve, impart best practices, and deliver both projects on-time.

“The entire project has been fantastic,” says Paul Matker, Thanx Media CEO. “It’s been a great example of how teamwork and putting together the right set of resources can accelerate an implementation, all while producing results that strongly impact both sales and customer experience.”

Goedeker’s Reaps Immediate and Dramatic Improvement in Site Search Conversions with Hawk Search

Goedeker’s, one of America’s largest independent retailers of discount appliances, home furniture, and mattresses, experienced an immediate increase in site searches due to the implementation of Hawk Search, a technology that Thanx Media resells. Hawk Search’s robust merchandising workbench enables Goedeker’s merchandising team to customize search results without the need for IT intervention.

Goedeker’s chose Hawk Search because they were confident the robust solution would show immediate results in meeting their main goals of:

  • Enriching the customer experience
  • Increasing site search conversions
  • Improving usability
  • Providing more targeted search results
  • Boosting search results relevancy

According to Matt Davids, Director of SEO for Goedeker’s, a desire to improve the customer experience and remove the merchandising obstacles associated with the existing site search solution were the main drivers behind the search for a new platform. “Over 95% of our sales come through our website,” explained Davids. “We wanted to make it easier for our customers to search for products and quickly find exactly what they need. Goedeker’s prefers Hawk Search because of the ease of implementation and highly relevant out-of-the-box results.”

The day after implementation, Goedeker’s reported a dramatic 30% increase in the use of the site search feature along with a 25% increase in conversions: a trend which continues. The flexible and scalable solution powers Goedeker’s Ecommerce site search and category navigation.

“The Goedeker’s story is a great example of how implementing a site search solution can improve the customer experience and dramatically increase conversions,” said Paul Matker, Thanx Media CEO.
